Indian delegation pays respects at Saint Peter’s Square, Vatican City
The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, today attended the funeral Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis at Saint Peter’s Square, marking India’s deep respect and diplomatic presence at one of the most significant global religious ceremonies in recent history.
Accompanying the President were Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju; Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Shri George Kurian; and Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Joshua De Souza. The officials formed part of the official Indian delegation attending the papal funeral service, which drew leaders and dignitaries from across the world.
