Strengthening ties through culture, commerce, and collaboration, President Murmu praises Indian contributions to Slovakia’s growth
During her visit to Slovakia, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, addressed members of the Indian community at a special reception hosted by the Indian Ambassador in Bratislava. The event was attended by Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya and Members of Parliament Shri Dhaval Patel and Sandhya Ray, who joined the President in celebrating the vibrant role of the Indian diaspora in Slovakia.
Speaking to the enthusiastic gathering, the President emphasized that India and Slovakia enjoy a relationship grounded in mutual respect and shared democratic ideals. She highlighted the steady progress in economic, political, and cultural cooperation between the two nations, a bond made even stronger by the presence and contributions of the Indian community.

The President shared insights from her recent discussions with Slovak leaders, including the President, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the National Council of Slovakia. She conveyed that the meetings were highly productive, with a focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The Slovak leadership, she noted, expressed sincere admiration for the Indian community’s commitment and role in Slovakia’s growth story.
President Murmu also acknowledged the enduring friendship fostered by Slovak admirers of India, pointing out the growing local interest in Indian heritage, from Yoga and Ayurveda to Indian cuisine.
She expressed her optimism that the Slovak translation of the Upanishads would offer Slovak citizens a meaningful window into India’s ancient wisdom.
Before concluding her visit, the President also interacted with an Indian business delegation, discussing opportunities for expanding economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Indian enterprises and Slovak partners. She departed for New Delhi, reaffirming her belief in the bright future of India-Slovakia relations.
