Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Dominica’s highest national accolade, the Dominica Award of Honour, in recognition of his visionary statesmanship, steadfast support during the COVID-19 pandemic, and dedication to enhancing India-Dominica relations. The ceremony took place on November 20, 2024, in Georgetown, Guyana, during the Second India-CARICOM Summit.

Several notable leaders from the Caribbean region, including Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali; Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley; Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell; Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre; and Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, also witnessed the momentous occasion.
