PM Rabuka’s first visit to India in current capacity; to hold bilateral talks with PM Modi and meet President of India
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji, Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka, will undertake an official visit to India from 24 to 26 August 2025, accompanied by his spouse Ms. Sulueti Rabuka, Minister of Health and Medical Services Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, and senior officials.
This marks Prime Minister Rabuka’s first visit to India in his present capacity, highlighting the importance of strengthening Indo-Fijian relations.
During his stay in New Delhi, Prime Minister Rabuka will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 August 2025, followed by a lunch hosted in his honour by PM Modi
He is also scheduled to call on the Hon’ble President of India, continuing the high-level exchanges that saw the Rashtrapati visit Fiji in August 2024.
In addition, Prime Minister Rabuka will deliver a special address on ‘Ocean of Peace’ at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in New Delhi, reflecting shared priorities in regional cooperation, maritime security, and global peace.
The visit underscores the longstanding partnership between India and Fiji and reaffirms the commitment of both nations to expand cooperation across diverse sectors while deepening people-to-people ties.
