AI education and innovation deal: 10-year MoU to drive AI research, education, and regional tech transformation through Indo-Qatari alliance
The Arab Center for Artificial Intelligence (ACAI), based in Qatar, has signed a decade-long Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universal AI University (UAI), a leading Indian institution in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The partnership aims to strengthen AI education, innovation, and research across Qatar and the wider Gulf region, reported cio.eletsonline.com.

As part of the agreement, ACAI and UAI will establish a state-of-the-art research center focused on AI and emerging technologies. The collaboration will introduce advanced educational and training programs to meet Qatar’s growing demand for AI professionals in line with its knowledge-based economy ambitions.
In addition to research initiatives, the partnership plans to launch online and short-term AI courses, with a long-term goal of creating a dedicated AI university campus in Qatar. This future hub will offer interdisciplinary education across AI, business, engineering, sustainability, and more, driving regional digital transformation and innovation.
Chairman of ACAI, Eng. Khalid Abdulrahim Al Sayed, said, “This collaboration is a significant stride toward positioning Qatar as a global center for AI and technological innovation. The fusion of regional and international expertise will shape a knowledge-rich future.”
Tarandeep Singh Anand, President of Universal AI University, echoed this vision, stating, “We are proud to collaborate on this transformative journey. Our mission is to equip future leaders, researchers, and creators with the tools to drive real-world impact through intelligent solutions.”
The MoU also outlines frameworks for dispute resolution, intellectual property rights, and annual review protocols to ensure consistent progress. Detailed implementation plans will be rolled out in upcoming phases.
