On January 21, 2025, the Foreign Ministers Australia, India, Japan, and the Secretary of State of the United States met in Washington D.C. to emphasize their shared commitment to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. They reaffirmed the importance of upholding international law, democratic values, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the region.
The Quad nations vow to strengthen regional security, promote economic opportunities, and oppose unilateral actions that disrupt the status quo
The ministers expressed their resolve to enhance regional maritime, economic, and technology security amid growing challenges, emphasizing the need for reliable and resilient supply chains.
They also outlined plans to continue advancing the Quad’s efforts, with regular meetings leading up to the next Quad Leaders’ Summit, which will be hosted by India.
