 Ramu Abbagani, a 2001 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and the current Ambassador of India to the Dominican Republic, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam.

An Experienced Diplomat in a Key Role

With a distinguished diplomatic career,  Ramu Abbagani has represented India in various capacities, contributing significantly to international relations.

His appointment as the High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam comes at a crucial time, reinforcing India’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with the Southeast Asian nation.

Strengthening India-Brunei Relations

He is expected to take up his new assignment soon, further strengthening India’s diplomatic ties with Brunei

India and Brunei share strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, with cooperation in trade, energy, education, and defense.  Abbagani’s appointment is expected to further deepen collaboration and strategic engagement between the two countries.
