GMR AeroCity Hyderabad is a landmark realty asset that is competitive, attractive and a sustainable urban landscape. With an International Airport at its core, it brings speed, ease-of-doing-business and connectivity as unique business propositions. Spread across 1500 acres, GMR AeroCity Hyderabad is envisaged to be an integrated mixed-use development, which includes key zones, viz. Business Park, Retail Park, Aerospace and Industrial Park, Logistics Park, Hospitality etc. It also provides complete living and working experience, with support infrastructure including schools, healthcare, rental accommodation, leisure and entertainment.
As part of its journey to develop Hyderabad as a hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing, GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited (GHASL), a vertical under Hyderabad AeroCity and a 100% subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) was chosen by French Aerospace and Defence major Safran to develop their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
On July 7, 2022, the Safran Group inaugurated two new facilities for Safran Electrical & Power India (SEPI) and Safran Aircraft Engines Hyderabad (SAEH). Located at the GHASL Industrial Park, the two industrial facilities will produce electrical harnesses for civil and fighter jets and components for advanced aircraft engines. Spanned across 13 acres of land, these facilities were built and handed over to Safran by GHASL in August 2019 and December 2021, respectively.
GMR Industrial Park offers the flexibility of choosing land within Multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for businesses serving foreign markets as well as land in Domestic Tariff Area for businesses serving India market
GBS Raju, Business Chairman – Airports, GMR Group, said, “We are proud to partner with Safran and be a part of the inauguration of the world class facility. GMR built the facility in record time, matching global standards and contributing to the Make-in-India initiative. GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park continues to improve its Infrastructure to attract global investment in aviation, defense manufacturing and electronics assembly. We will continue to support the Telangana Government’s concerted efforts to turn Hyderabad as the hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing and partner in the growth of the state.”
Leveraging GMR Group’s experience in infrastructure development, GHASL has developed ‘GMR Industrial Park’, bringing to its customers the convenience of a ‘ready-to-use’ infrastructure. By virtue of being housed within Hyderabad International Airport, the Park enjoys greater security, un-interrupted supply of utilities like power and water and a reliable IT backbone. The Park also enjoys support of the complete Airport ecosystem like availability of 5* hotel, F&B, Medical facilities, rental accommodation, reliable and affordable transport etc. The Park benefits from a dedicated Municipal Body set up for Airport related building plan approvals.
GMR Industrial Park offers the flexibility of choosing land within Multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for businesses serving foreign markets as well as land in Domestic Tariff Area for businesses serving India market. The Park also houses India’s 1st and only Airport based Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) within the SEZ. It is well connected by air, road and rail, including robust connectivity to seaports. It also has access to an operational runway for final assembly line and testing requirements of planes, UAVs and helicopters.
