Bollywood actor Amrita Arora Ladak appeared before a court on Saturday as a witness in the 2012 hotel brawl case involving Saif Ali Khan.

The case stems from an altercation at a five-star hotel, where an NRI businessman, Iqbal Sharma, accused Khan and his friends of assaulting him and his father-in-law, reported ndtv.com.

Hotel Brawl and Witness Testimony

Amrita Arora Ladak, who was dining with Khan’s group on February 22, 2012, testified that the hotel had provided a separate enclosure for their gathering. She claimed that while they were enjoying their meal, a man suddenly entered the enclosure and shouted aggressively, demanding that they keep quiet.

  • “We saw someone barging into our enclosure and, in a very loud, aggressive voice, told us to shut up and keep quiet.”

  • “We all got shocked at what was happening.”

— Ladak said in court, adding that Saif immediately stood up and apologised

The complainant left, and the group continued their dinner. However, shortly after, when Saif excused himself to use the washroom, they heard loud voices, including Saif’s. Moments later, the same man allegedly entered their enclosure and struck Saif, prompting others to intervene.

Assault Allegations and Legal Proceedings

According to the police report, Sharma objected to the loud conversation at the table, which allegedly led to Saif threatening him before punching him in the nose, causing a fracture. Sharma also accused Saif and his friends of assaulting his father-in-law, Raman Patel.

Saif, however, defended his actions, claiming that Sharma had used offensive language against the women in his group, leading to the altercation.

The actor, along with his two friends, Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, has been charge-sheeted under Section 325 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code. The court proceedings are ongoing.
