Fares likely to double due to back-to-school travel rush
If you’re planning a trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) soon, you might want to book your tickets now.
Flight prices from countries like India, Pakistan, Europe, and across the Middle East are expected to rise sharply after August 15, with some fares already doubling in price, according to travel experts, reported timesnownews.com.
The surge in airfares is being driven primarily by the end of school holidays, as families and students head back to the UAE in time for the new academic year beginning August 25. Routes from major Indian cities such as Delhi and Bengaluru are seeing the most significant hikes.
Fares from India to UAE may cross Dh1,500 as students and families return post-summer break
As per travel platform Skyscanner, current one-way fares from Indian cities to the UAE range between Dh420 and Dh450. However, these are expected to spike to between Dh900 and Dh1,500 after mid-August, depending on the route and demand.
Despite rising airfares, the UAE continues to attract tourists thanks to its simplified visa policies. Indian citizens, in particular, benefit from easy access through e-visas and visa-on-arrival options.

Visa-on-Arrival:
Indian passport holders with valid US visas, Green Cards, or residence cards from the UK or EU (with at least six months’ validity) are eligible for a visa-on-arrival in the UAE. This costs approximately INR 3,260.

Travellers with a valid passport and onward flight ticket can apply for a UAE transit visa (valid for 48 or 96 hours).
How to Apply:
Tourist visas can be obtained through official UAE government platforms such as GDRFA, the ICP App, and Dubai Now. The application process is fully online—simply upload your passport and photo, fill in your details, and pay the required fees.
