An Indian national from Andhra Pradesh, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia after being deceived by a fraudulent job agent, has safely returned home. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed the return of Veerendra Kumar, who had been promised a job in Qatar but ended up in Saudi Arabia under dire circumstances.
The embassy posted on X: “Few days back, plight of an Indian National, Mr. Veerendra Kumar was brought to the attention of the Embassy. We are happy to announce that he has safely returned to now. We wish to thank all the community volunteers who worked with the Embassy to ensure his safe return to India.”

Veerendra recounted his ordeal, stating that an agent had promised him a job but instead, he was transported to Saudi Arabia on July 10

Once there, he was forced to work as a camel herder in the desert, without access to basic necessities.

The harsh weather conditions proved unbearable, prompting Veerendra to make a desperate plea for help, expressing fears for his life, as reported by The News Minute
Upon his arrival in Hyderabad on Friday night, Veerendra was welcomed by his relieved family members. His appeal for help through a social media video caught the attention of Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh, who pledged to rescue him, according to reports from Khaleej Times.
