The visit highlighted India’s interest in fostering business and trade ties with the UAE
On November 14, 2024, Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM), embarked on his 10th official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since 2019, underscoring the dynamic and deep-rooted partnership between the two nations.
During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar met His Highness Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. The leaders reviewed the wide-ranging comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE, expressing satisfaction over the robust growth in bilateral relations. They discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern, reaffirming their commitment to shared interests. Dr. Jaishankar extended an invitation to HH Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit India, reflecting the mutual desire to sustain high-level engagements.
Dr. Jaishankar’s visit reaffirmed the enduring strength of the India-UAE relationship and highlighted their shared vision for cooperation in strategic, cultural, and economic domains
In a significant milestone for educational cooperation, Dr. Jaishankar, along with HE Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the Dubai campus of Symbiosis International University. He lauded the initiative as a symbol of the growing educational collaboration between the two nations.
Dr. Jaishankar also visited the Bharat Mart site, where Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, briefed him on the project’s progress and potential avenues for future partnerships.
Another noteworthy stop was the BAPS Hindu Mandir, where Dr. Jaishankar admired the structure as an “oasis in the desert,” embodying tolerance, cultural diversity, and coexistence. The Mandir serves as a shining example of the UAE’s commitment to inclusivity and harmony.
