Muscat, Oman: The Oman Arab Bank (“OAB”) has announced the appointment of Sulaiman Al Harthi as Chief Executive Officer of OAB.
Sulaiman Al Harthi is a 35-year industry veteran having held a variety of leadership positions at leading local banks and financial institutions including CEO of Alizz Islamic Bank.
He will assume his role at the Bank on the 4th of January, 2023.

Prior to his role as CEO of OAB, Sulaiman Al Harthi was Chief Executive Officer of Alizz Islamic Bank, overseeing its strategic direction and turning it into a profitable organisation within a short period of time.
Prior to joining Alizz Islamic Bank, Sulaiman Al Harthi was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Oman Arab Bank. During his career, he also held leadership positions at various local banks and financial institutions including Bank Muscat as Group Chief Personal Banking Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Meethaq Islamic Banking, Bank Muscat’s Islamic window.
Sulaiman Al Harthi is a member of Takaful Oman’s Board of Directors and sits on the Board of Harvard Business School Club of the GCC. He is also Board of Trustees member of the Gulf College. Sulaiman Al Harthi is a graduate of Oman Institute of Bankers.
Prior to his role as CEO of OAB, Sulaiman Al Harthi was Chief Executive Officer of Alizz Islamic Bank, overseeing its strategic direction and turning it into a profitable organisation within a short period of time.
He has completed the Executive Management Programmes at Harvard Business School and at INSEAD Business School. He also holds an MBA in Finance from Leicester University, UK.
