Director General Homer Chang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India held a strategic dialogue with the Confederation of Indian Industry – Western Region (CII WR) on December 24, to explore avenues for enhanced trade and investment cooperation between Taiwan and India. The high-level meeting brought together senior representatives from the Taiwan Business Association and the Taiwan Trade Center in Mumbai, underscoring a shared commitment to expanding economic linkages and fostering sustainable business partnerships.
The discussions centered on identifying practical opportunities to catalyze bilateral trade, facilitate investment flows, and strengthen the networking ecosystem between Taiwanese and Indian enterprises. Director General Chang emphasized Taiwan’s interest in deepening economic collaboration with India, particularly in sectors where complementary strengths can drive mutual growth. Participants explored ways to leverage the robust industrial capabilities of Taiwan alongside India’s dynamic market potential, reflecting a strategic alignment of interests.
For its part, the CII WR delegation highlighted India’s evolving business landscape, driven by reforms aimed at enhancing competitiveness, improving ease of doing business, and attracting foreign investment.

Earlier in December, the CII hosted the prestigious Mumbai International Summit, which provided a platform for global business leaders to engage with Indian industry stakeholders. The TECC was invited to participate in this marquee event, enabling Taiwanese representatives to connect with local businesses and deepen their understanding of India’s commercial ecosystem. At the summit, delegates from Taiwan engaged in substantive exchanges with Indian companies, identifying areas of shared interest and exploring potential joint ventures. The presence of the TECC at the summit reaffirmed Taiwan’s proactive approach to building robust economic partnerships in the region.
The recent interactions between Taiwan and CII WR reflect a growing momentum in bilateral economic relations, driven by a convergence of strategic priorities and an appetite for diversified global engagement.
