The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) has launched a major initiative to attract more Indian travellers, starting with a high-profile roadshow in New Delhi. The campaign aims to strengthen cultural exchange, boost tourism, and build lasting partnerships with Indian travel agents. Special focus is being placed on luxury travel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segments to attract high-spending visitors.

The Delhi event offered Indian travel sellers a closer look at Taiwan’s modern infrastructure, scenic landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Dignitaries and industry leaders from both regions attended, highlighting shared goals for growth and collaboration.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) played a key role, with Representative Baushuan Ger noting that tourism is becoming a vital third pillar alongside trade and investment in India–Taiwan relations

Paul Shih, Director of TTA’s Singapore Office, emphasised the importance of connectivity in Taiwan’s strategy. By working closely with airlines, travel agents, and online platforms, Taiwan is positioning itself as an accessible short-haul destination. Shih highlighted Taiwan’s safety, convenience, cultural diversity, and Indian-friendly food options as key attractions. Travel between major cities takes around three hours, making it easy for visitors to explore multiple destinations.

The “Taiwan Never Sleeps” global campaign showcases the island as vibrant, safe, and convenient all year round, promoting urban nightlife, seasonal festivals, and outdoor experiences. Beyond Delhi, TTA plans to expand roadshows to Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune in 2026 to reach new traveller segments. Collaboration with online travel agencies, trade partners, and destination training will support these efforts.

Indian arrivals to Taiwan have risen steadily, with a 20% increase since the opening of the Taiwan Destination Information Centre in Mumbai in February 2024. With improved connectivity, fresh campaigns, and targeted engagement, Taiwan is steadily becoming a preferred choice for Indian travellers seeking culture, convenience, and memorable experiences.
