Fleeing of Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani, was a symbolic victory of the Taliban, who according to media reports have taken over the presidential palace in Kabul

Facing little resistance from Afghan forces the Taliban entered the capital, Kabul on Sunday and are on the verge of declaring ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’.

The Taliban were removed from power 20 years ago by a US-led attack, but soon after US’ ‘withdrawal’ from Afghanistan the Taliban militiamen captured whole of the country with a little or no resistance.

Ashraf Ghani, cleared his position through a Facebook post. “A hard choice” that he chose to “prevent bloodshed”. He ended his note with “Long Live Afghanistan.”

In a statement the Taliban claimed to have entered the capital and were working to restore law and order.
