Chief Minister M K Stalin, who is on an official tour of Japan to seek investments, took the bullet train from Osaka to the capital city of Tokyo. He was given a warm welcome by the Tamil diaspora in Tokyo. Tweeting about his journey, the CM said, “I am taking the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo, a journey which will cover 500km in two-and-a-half hours.”
The TN Chief Minister recalled the similarities between Tamil and Japanese, from ancient times. “The ancient Tamil Brahmi script and the Japanese script had many similarities.”

Later, addressing the Tamil diaspora in Tokyo city, the CM said Japan was a nation that had got up on its feet as fast as it had fallen during the Second World War to become an indisputable economic power. He recalled the similarities between Tamil and Japanese, from ancient times. The ancient Tamil Brahmi script and the Japanese script had many similarities, said Stalin.
