In a significant move to address the grievances of Non-Resident Tamilians (NRTs) and their family members, the Tamil Nadu government has introduced a user-friendly desktop application as part of the NRI Cell initiative at the state police headquarters. The announcement of this pioneering initiative was made by Chief Minister MK Stalin during the Assembly session on September 13, 2021, and the NRI Cell was formally inaugurated on April 4, 2022.

Previously, NRIs had to rely on email communication to file their complaints, which could sometimes lead to delays and inefficiencies in addressing their concerns. To streamline the process and provide a more efficient channel for complaint registration, the Tamil Nadu Police has developed a desktop application accessible through the official website: https://eservices.tnpolice.gov.in. The application will be made available for public use starting from August 4, 2023.

This innovative desktop application represents a significant step forward in streamlining grievance resolution for Non-Resident Tamilians, making it easier for them and their families to seek redressal and assistance from the state authorities. By embracing technology and digital platforms, the Tamil Nadu government aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in public services, catering to the needs of the global Tamil community.

With the new desktop app, petitioners can now conveniently track the status of their grievances by logging into the portal. Moreover, the NRI Cell’s dedicated police team will send real-time notifications to the petitioners regarding every development and progress made on their complaints.

To initiate the process, NRTs can submit their petitions directly through the desktop application, reaching out to the officials at the NRI Cell. Upon successful registration, each petitioner will receive a unique grievance ID, ensuring seamless tracking and easy reference.

Once the petition is received by the NRI Cell, it undergoes a verification process before being forwarded to the relevant City/District authorities for a thorough investigation. Notably, the desktop application empowers users to generate reports based on specific parameters such as dates, countries, categories, and stages, offering valuable insights and data for analysis.

To further support petitioners and address any potential queries related to the desktop application, the NRI Cell can be contacted at 044-28470025.
