“This is why we remain just as committed to their success today as we were when the Group was founded five decades ago. We have always strived to ensure that the quality and performance of the world-class brands we represent are matched by superior customer service and after-sales support, no matter where our customers are in the country. This commitment has always governed and shaped our journey and will continue to do so in the years to come.”

Five decades after the dawn of the Renaissance and the establishment of the modern Omani state, the automotive sector stands as one of the main contributors to the national economy. The sector owes much of its success to the founder of the Zubair Automotive Group, Mohammad Al Zubair.

As with many of the largest corporations we know today, Zubair Automotive Group’s roots can be traced back to a small start-up. This was a small business outfit set up by HE Mohammad Al Zubair on the onset of rising economic opportunities triggered by the Renaissance in the late 1960s, specifically 1967, called Muscat Trading Company.

“Of all the achievements and accomplishments of our Group over the past five decades, one thing is certain; we would not be where we are today were it not for the loyalty and support of our valued customers,” said Mohammad Al Farei.

Under his guidance and leadership, the company grew and eventually became Zubair Enterprises in 1973 and commenced operations in the automotive sector by representing its very first automotive franchise – Chrysler, followed soon thereafter by Mitsubishi Motors.

This set in motion a business initiative that would ultimately blossom into the highly respected and well-diversified business corporation we know today.

Under his leadership, the Zubair Automotive Group has been a trendsetter in the Omani market for the past five decades. Over the years, the Group has continued to grow steadily, responding to market needs by expanding its brand portfolio and incorporating the latest technology and industry best practices.

As a result, it is responsible for introducing some of the world’s most prominent automotive brands to the country and has continued to set the standard for sales, after-sales and customer service excellence in Oman’s Automotive Sector.

The Zubair Automotive Group has kept pace with the development of the Sultanate throughout the years and stands today as one of the country’s largest and oldest automotive distributors, partnered with the world’s most prestigious brands.

Representing them is a diverse range of subsidiaries, including General Automotive Company, International Heavy Equipment (IHE), Dhofar Automotive, Sayarti and Zubair Commercial Trucks and Equipment.

Each boasts its own distinct business philosophy, country-wide sales and service network, various brand and product portfolios, and an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction.

“We don’t consider our 50th Anniversary as an occasion to only reflect on where we have reached; rather, it is part of our very ethos to challenge the norm and lead the way for the future of the Sultanate’s Automotive Sector. We intend to achieve this through continued strategic investment in our businesses, staff, technology, and infrastructure,” said Rashad Mohammad Al Zubair the Chairman of The Zubair Corporation.

Mohammad Al Farei expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in the success of Zubair Automotive Group over the past five decades, saying, “I would like to offer special thanks to each of our loyal clients, shareholders, suppliers, strategic partners, principals, and our staff. They have each played a critical part in the success of our organisation. We are also extremely grateful to each of our shareholders for their continued support of our vision.

“Under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman has entered an era of renewed renaissance, and we will be there to support him and help guide the automotive sector towards a prosperous future.”

At the event, the Zubair Automotive Group showcased an array of cutting-edge technologies and product offerings from the diverse range of brands it represents, including Mitsubishi Motors, FUSO, Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Liebherr, Bobcat, Putzmeister, Jungheinrich, Montabert, Eicher, F.lli Ferrari, Cromwell, Hi-Force, and Resato, among others.
