- Ram Lalla replica arrival from Ayodhya
- If realized, the grand temple will stand as a powerful symbol of devotion, unity, and the enduring legacy of Indian culture across oceans — a living bridge between Ayodhya and the Caribbean
Trinidad and Tobago, home to a vibrant Indian-origin community that forms a significant part of its 1.5 million population, is witnessing a deepening of cultural and spiritual ties with India. In a landmark event earlier this year, the Caribbean nation received a replica of Ayodhya’s revered Ram Lalla idol — a moment that marked both devotion and heritage.
In May, over 10,000 devotees gathered in Port of Spain to welcome the sacred idol in a grand ceremony filled with emotion, music, and traditional rituals
The occasion held added significance as it coincided with the 180th anniversary of the arrival of Indian immigrants to Trinidad and Tobago, a milestone celebrating generations of resilience and faith.
The event has since sparked a broader vision — the creation of Ayodhya Nagari, a proposed spiritual complex that will include a magnificent Ram Mandir in the capital. The project aims to establish Trinidad and Tobago as a cultural and spiritual hub for Hinduism in the Western Hemisphere, fostering connections between India and the Caribbean diaspora.
