Authorities in Oman are investigating into the incident
Two Indian nationals have died, and several others were injured following a drone-related incident in Sohar, Oman, on Friday morning. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the deaths and said it is closely monitoring the situation.
According to Aseem R. Mahajan, Joint Secretary (Gulf) at the MEA, the attack led to casualties among foreign workers in the area. “Two Indian nationals lost their lives in the incident. We extend our deepest condolences to their families,” Mahajan said while briefing the media.
In total, 11 people were injured in the incident, including 10 Indian nationals. Authorities confirmed that five of the injured have already been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment. The remaining five are currently undergoing treatment at local hospitals in Oman. Officials added that none of the injured are believed to have sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, international media reports cited Oman’s state news agency as saying that the incident involved a drone strike that hit the Al-Awahi Industrial Area in Sohar. The attack reportedly killed two foreign nationals and injured several others.
The Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi said it is coordinating with Omani authorities to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials are continuing to monitor developments while ensuring support for the affected Indian nationals.
