Top-level meetings in Abu Dhabi and Tokyo underscore international solidarity with India after Pahalgam terror attack
In a strong display of global solidarity, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Japan have expressed unwavering support for India’s fight against terrorism, amid growing diplomatic outreach following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
Multi-party Indian parliamentary delegations are currently visiting world capitals to rally international backing against terrorism emanating from Pakistan, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
A delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde met with UAE’s Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Defence Committee Chairman Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, and other key leaders in Abu Dhabi.
In parallel, a second delegation headed by JDU MP Sanjay Jha engaged with Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and senior government officials in Tokyo.

Al Nuaimi further emphasised that terrorism is a “global threat”, urging nations to unite and create strategic frameworks for a secure future. “We must act together, especially as parliamentarians, to ensure peace for all humanity,” he stated.
In Tokyo, Japan’s foreign minister Takeshi Iwaya strongly condemned terrorism and extended deep condolences to victims of the Pahalgam attack. Reaffirming Japan’s support, Iwaya praised India’s measured response post-attack and called for accountability for those behind the violence.
“The security of Indian nationals is non-negotiable. India is not just a government partner but also a people-to-people strategic ally,” said a senior UAE leader, reinforcing the strength of Indo-UAE ties.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), lauded the diplomatic efforts: “Great to see #TeamIndia taking our message of zero tolerance for terrorism to the world.”
Meanwhile, a third delegation led by DMK MP K Kanimozhi departed for Russia and four European nations, continuing India’s concerted global push against terrorism.
The UAE delegation also included BJP’s Manan Kumar Mishra, S S Ahluwalia, Atul Garg, Bansuri Swaraj, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, IUML’s E T Mohammed Basheer, former diplomat Sujan R Chinoy, and former ambassador Sunjay Sudhir.
The Japan-bound team featured BJP’s Aparajita Sarangi, Brijlal, Pradhan Barua, Hemang Joshi, Congress’s Salman Khurshid, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, CPM’s John Brittas, and former diplomat Mohan Kumar.
