MoHRE introduces streamlined online platform to expedite work permit applications for employers
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a new digital service to simplify and speed up the work permit application process for foreign workers, marking a major step in the country’s digital transformation of public services.
This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), enables employers to apply for work permits directly through an official website or mobile app, replacing previous manual procedures with a more efficient and accessible system,
According to Gulf News, the updated platform offers bundled service packages that cover the job offer, employment contract, and initial permit approval, with real-time updates on employment quotas and notifications, reported ndtv.com.
New digital platform allows employers to submit bundled work permit applications online, including job offers, contracts, and initial approvals, benefiting thousands of foreign workers, especially from India.
While digital signature verification is mandatory for applications submitted via business service centres, it is not required for those using the smart app.
One of the standout features is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) for swift and accurate document verification. Employers must provide essential details such as salary, working hours, and job location, alongside necessary documents. For business centre submissions, identity verification is conducted using ID card readers. After completing the application and document upload, employers can review and proceed to payment seamlessly.
This move is expected to significantly ease the recruitment of overseas talent, especially from India, which has a large expatriate workforce in key UAE cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. The digital reform promises to open doors for more skilled workers to join the UAE’s thriving job market.
