This amnesty program represents a significant opportunity for individuals in the UAE to resolve their residency issues or return home without facing penalties, with the Indian Consulate ensuring comprehensive support throughout the process.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has initiated a two-month visa amnesty program starting September 1. This program offers individuals residing illegally in the UAE an opportunity to either regularize their residency status or leave the country without facing penalties. The Consulate General of India (CGI) has issued an advisory outlining the steps for those wishing to take advantage of this initiative.
For Indian nationals who wish to return to India, the Consulate is providing Emergency Certificates (ECs) free of charge. Applicants can apply for ECs at the Consulate General of India in Dubai or at the Awir Immigration Centre, Dubai.
For further information regarding the issuance of travel documents, applicants can contact the dedicated mobile number 050-9433111 between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Additionally, the PBSK Helpline is available 24/7 at 800-46342
The facilitation counter at the Consulate will be operational from September 2, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Applicants can collect their ECs from the Consulate between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM the day after their application submission.
In addition to the ECs, applicants can also visit any BLS Centers in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to apply for Short Validity Passports without needing a prior appointment. These centers will operate on all Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the amnesty period to cater to applicants who wish to utilize this scheme.
Various Indian Community Associations are also providing support and guidance, with specific contact points available in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Khorfakkan, and Kalba.
