Union Minister Pralhad Joshi honoured by Dubai Kannada Sangha for supporting Kannadigas abroad  

  • The minister recalled Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, where the richness of Kannada and the contribution of Kannadigas were highlighted

  • On the occasion, the management committee and teachers of the UAE Kannada School were also felicitated for their dedicated efforts in promoting Kannada language and culture abroad

The Dubai Kannada Sangha recently felicitated Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, recognising his continued commitment to the development of Karnataka and his people-focused approach to governance. The event, held in Dubai, brought together members of the Kannada-speaking community in the UAE to celebrate efforts aimed at preserving their language and cultural identity overseas.

Speaking at the programme, Shashidhar Nagarajappa, coordinator of the Kannada School in the UAE, said that just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains dedicated to the welfare of the nation, Pralhad Joshi has consistently worked for the well-being of Kannadigas

He highlighted the minister’s support and guidance for initiatives such as the Kannada School, which was launched to promote the Kannada language and culture among the diaspora.

Shashidhar noted that Joshi’s willingness to listen to and address the concerns of Non-Resident Indians has earned him deep respect within the overseas community. He described the minister as a compassionate and approachable leader whose vision for promoting Kannada language, land and culture at the global level has given renewed confidence to Kannadigas living abroad. He also praised Joshi for effectively implementing Prime Minister Modi’s welfare schemes in Karnataka.

Addressing the gathering, Pralhad Joshi said it was a matter of pride to see Kannada speakers abroad coming together to safeguard and promote their language and traditions. He appreciated the efforts of the UAE Kannada School, stating that such initiatives help keep cultural roots strong even while living far from home.
