India welcomes US move against Pakistan-based proxy group TRF
The Government of India has welcomed the decision of the United States Department of State to designate The Resistance Front (TRF) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT).
This move, led by US Secretary of State Mr. Marco Rubio, has been acknowledged by India as a significant step in the global fight against terrorism. TRF responsible for deadly terror attack in J&K’s Pahalgam.

The TRF, which operates as a proxy of the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT), has been linked to several terror-related activities. Most notably, it claimed responsibility—twice—for the brutal attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025
India has long stressed the importance of international collaboration in combating terrorism and dismantling terror networks.
The US decision to designate TRF reflects the growing cooperation between India and the US in counter-terrorism efforts.
India reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and vowed to continue working with global partners to ensure that terrorist groups and their supporters are brought to justice.
