A pre-Diwali celebration in North Carolina turned into a Bollywood moment when Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht and Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley took the stage to groove to Salman Khan’s hit song ‘Chunari Chunari’ from the 1999 film Biwi No.1. The lively performance drew cheers and applause from hundreds attending the annual Hum Sub Diwali event, celebrating Indian culture and community spirit, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

The organisers shared on Instagram, “This year’s Hum Sub Diwali event was truly a celebration of togetherness and cultural pride! The highlight of the evening was when Mayor Harold Weinbrecht (Cary) and Mayor TJ Cawley (Morrisville) joined council members Sarika Bansal, Lori Bush, Michelle Craig, and others from Cary and Morrisville staff to perform to the beats of India — choreographed by Taal Harmony Dance Group.”

Mayor TJ Cawley also took to Instagram, writing, “Hum Sub Diwali is always one of my favorite events of the year. Looking forward to next year.”
