VFS to function Monday to Friday under UAE’s new working week schedule

The working hours for the centres will be 9 am-5 pm from Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, the working hours will be the same except for a prayer break from 1pm to 2.30pm

Coinciding with the UAE Government’s recent decision to adopt a new working week schedule starting January 2, 2022, the VFS Global announced revised operational timings at its centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, a report in Gulf Business said.

Under the new arrangement, the customers in the UAE can visit for Visa Application processing at the designated centres from Monday to Friday. The centres will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The working hours for the centres will be 9 am-5 pm from Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, the working hours will be the same except for a prayer break from 1 pm to 2.30 pm.

“Operational hours of our VACs in the UAE are revised as per the instructions received from the concerned Embassy/ Consulate,” Gulf Business quoted Atul Marwah, who is head of the Middle East and North Africa at VFS Global.

The Visa Facilitation Services Global has started the ‘Visa at Your Doorstep’ service or those who do not want to visit the centres keeping in mind Covid concerns.

“It allows the submitting of visa applications and enrolling for biometrics from a location of your choice. In addition to the applications centres, VFS Global Philippine ePassport Renewal Centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will also continue to operate seven days a week from 8 am-8 pm. Philippine nationals living in the UAE holding passport can apply for a renewal by making a prior appointment before visiting the centre.VFS Global is the world’s largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide. With 3,518 application centres, it has operations in 143 countries across five, it will operate over the same hours, although there will be a prayer break between 1-2.30pm. The latest decision was made to coincide with the UAE Government’s recent decision to adopt a new working week schedule starting January 2, 2022,” said the Gulf Business report.
