On the serene morning of June 20, 2025, an inspiring and unique yoga session unfolded aboard two Indian Navy ships docked at Muscat’s picturesque Muttrah Port in the Sultanate of Oman.

The event was organized to commemorate the 11th International Day of Yoga, embracing its core message of harmony, health, and inner balance.

Commencing at 5 a.m., the session welcomed the first light of dawn with gentle postures, deep breathing, and a collective spirit of mindfulness. Approximately 60 to 70 participants took part in this memorable occasion, including Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Ambassador of India to Oman.

Acharya Manoranjan, the Yoga teacher at the Indian Embassy in Oman, led the session with poise and clarity, guiding attendees through a series of asanas and breathing techniques designed to awaken the body and calm the mind. Reflecting on the experience.

In many ways, the event symbolized a deeper connection—between tradition and modernity, discipline and wellness, and between two great nations that recognize the power of ancient wisdom in shaping a healthier, more peaceful world

“Practicing yoga aboard a naval ship is more than symbolic—it’s a beautiful reminder of how inner peace can coexist with outer strength. Yoga is not just a routine; it is a discipline that resonates with the very ethos of the armed forces,” he remarked.

Participants were divided into two groups, each assigned to one of the Indian Navy vessels, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated session that respected both space and serenity. The setting—amid gentle sea waves and the morning breeze—added a deeply meditative quality to the experience.

“Yoga connects us not only to ourselves but also to the world around us. Today, as civilians and defense personnel came together on these ships, we celebrated yoga as a unifying force that transcends borders and professions,” Acharya Manoranjan further shared.

After the session, attendees were offered an exclusive guided tour of the Indian Navy ships, providing a rare glimpse into the life and operations of India’s naval warriors. The morning concluded with warm hospitality and refreshments served onboard, fostering a sense of camaraderie and cross-cultural friendship.
