The US has issued nearly 1.25 lakh student visas to Indians in the fiscal year of 2022. Speaking to reporters, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price has stated that the US Embassy and consulates in India have set a new record for the highest number of visas granted in 2022, reported ToI.
Ned Price revealed that US granted nearly 1,25,000 visas to Indian students in the fiscal year. “Our embassy and consulates in India broke their all-time record for the number of student visas issued in the single fiscal year 2022,” stated Price.
The Embassy has broken this record by granting student visas to nearly 1,25 lakh Indian students to pursue their Study in USA dream.
This detail of a new record being set comes amidst the various questions raised regarding delays in granting visas. Price further stated that US will work towards reducing the visa interview appointment wait times as soon as possible. “We of course recognize that some applicants may still face extended visa wait times and we are making every effort to reduce visa interview appointment wait times as quickly as possible,” he stated.
United States has reportedly doubled the hiring of US foreign and service personnel in order to grant visas and ensure that they are not delayed any more. “Visas processing is recovering faster than projected and over the coming years we expect to reach pre-pandemic processing levels,” he told reporters.
Earlier in September 2022, US Embassy in India stated that around 82,000 Indian students were granted their US Visas in 2022. This number was recorded as the highest number of visas granted to any country. Now, the Embassy has broken this record by granting student visas to nearly 1,25 lakh Indian students to pursue their Study in USA dream.
