Death of nurse Sheba Mary (33) from the Indian State of Kerala and working in UAE’s Abu Dhabi, sent shockwaves among the members of the Indian community in the United Arab Emirates and Sultanate of Oman.
Sheba was on a visit to Oman during the Eid Ul Fitr holidays and she was on way to Oman’s popular tourist destination Salalah when an accident happened near Haima in the Al Wusta Governorate on Sunday. Sheba’s body was transferred to Haima Hospital.
Sheba leaves behind her elderly parents, husband Sajimon Raju (35), daughter Evelyn Maria Saji (5) and son Edvin Samuel Saji (2). Sajimon is employed at private firm in Abu Dhabi.
Gulf News quoted Sheba’s family, who said she was in a four-wheel drive along with her family and friends when a truck hit the vehicle near Haima on the way to Salalah. Seven people, who received serious injuries were shifted to Nizwa Hospital.
“We have lost our precious child. It is not easy to deal with it. I cannot believe she is gone. Sheba was a loving person. She was passionate about life and things. Being a nurse, she naturally cared for others. Our son-in-law is in a state of shock and we are concerend for him and our little grand-children who have lost their mother at such a young age,” the Gulf News Quoted P.D. Thomas, Sheba’s father, as saying.
“He said he and his wife Mariamma have been inundated with calls and visits from friends and family paying rich tributes to Sheba,” the report said.
Sheba’s uncle Mathews Daniel, who is in Haima, is doing the formalities for the departed soul.
