Study in the UK: Indian students positive about studying in UK universities

Despite lockdowns and many other situations arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic, the United Kingdom (UK) university and college courses are popular among Indian students.

An official data of the UK Home Office indicated a 6,391 (ending March 2021) increase in Indian students applying for study grants in the UK. The number indicates a 13 per cent more demand for study in the UK over the previous year.

IDP Connect, international education specialists, monitors student attitudes and motivations towards university study during the pandemic through its International Student Crossroads Reports indicates that 83 per cent of Indian students with an offer to study in the UK in the autumn expect to commence their studies as planned, around September. The study was done in April this year.

Universities UK International, an organisation representing 146 UK universities, welcomed the students as a positive sign to the students in person after improvement in the Covid-19 situation in the UK.

The coronavirus has so far claimed 128,075 lives in the UK, along with 4,515,779 confirmed infections, according to Johns Hopkins University.
