CRICKET: Venkatesh Iyer’s historic effort in vain; MI win by 5 wickets

Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets at Wankhede Stadium on the 16th of April. Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 runs off 51 balls and made history for KKR by being the first player to score a century since Brendon Mccullum, who did so against RCB in 2008.

MI won the toss and chose to bowl, with KKR scoring 185/6 in 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer did most of the heavy lifting, with Rinku Singh falling short of expectations. MI achieved the target in 17.4 overs. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav were the heavy hitters for the Mumbai side, with 58 and 43 runs, respectively.
