As the 2024 US Presidential elections approach, the Indian-American community finds itself divided between two prominent Republican candidates: Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley, reported M9.

This division among Indian-American voters, who make up around 16 percent of eligible Asian-American voters, has significant implications for swing states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada. Historically, Indian Americans have leaned towards the Democratic party.

However, a growing number are now gravitating toward the Republican candidates, despite reservations. Vivek Ramaswamy’s pledge to dismantle the Department of Education has raised concerns among some voters who worry about the impact on institutions crucial to Indian-American success. Many expressed mixed feelings, stating that while he’s proud of the representation, he wishes for a more compelling message from the Republican candidates.
