In a high-profile gathering during the Ramadan suhoor banquet at Sharjah’s Jazerat-al-alam, the Indian Business and Professional Council, an affiliate of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), orchestrated an intensive business rendezvous aimed at fortifying cooperation and amplifying bilateral trade and investments between Sharjah and India.
At the meeting, attended by key figures including Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), and Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), discussions revolved around fostering closer ties between the two business communities and exploring investment prospects across various strategic economic sectors.
Emphasizing the significance of such gatherings, Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, highlighted the pivotal role they play in nurturing new business partnerships between Indian and Emirati companies, laying a solid foundation for enhancing bilateral trade and mutual investments.
With approximately 17,500 Indian companies currently operating in Sharjah, according to SCCI’s members, the Indian Business and Professional Council, inaugurated in February 2023, continues to be a cornerstone in fostering economic ties between the two vibrant business communities
Lalu Samuel, Chairman of the Indian Business and Professional Council, underscored the objective of bringing leaders of Indian companies investing in Sharjah together with their counterparts in the emirate to forge cooperative relations and explore further opportunities. This initiative seeks to establish sustainable collaborative ties and pave the way for mutual economic growth.
