The Indian Embassy in Lebanon issued an advisory on Monday for Indians residing in or traveling to the West Asian country following heightened tensions between Israel and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah group, raising fears of a potential conflict.
The advisory urged all Indian nationals in Lebanon, as well as those planning to visit, to stay in close contact with the Indian Embassy in Beirut. In a post on X, the Embassy stated: “In view of the recent developments in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in contact with Embassy of India in Beirut through their email id: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.”

This advisory follows Israel’s warning to Hezbollah, accusing the group of launching a rocket attack on the Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children. Although Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the strike, it marked one of the deadliest incidents affecting Israel or its controlled territories since the attacks on October 7.
In response, Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah targets both deep within Lebanese territory and along the border. The Israeli military confirmed the airstrikes in a statement on Sunday morning, though the immediate impact and casualties from these strikes were not clear.
