The 13th round of the India-Oman Strategic Consultative Group (IOSCG) meeting was convened on December 3, 2024, in New Delhi. The high-level dialogue was co-chaired by Shri Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary (CPV & OIA) from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions spanned the breadth of India-Oman bilateral relations, encompassing political and strategic cooperation, trade and investment, energy, maritime and defense collaborations, digital initiatives, and cultural exchanges. Both sides also delved into regional and global issues of shared interest, reaffirming their commitment to collaborative growth. The next round of the IOSCG is scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman, at a mutually agreed time.
In addition to the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy made a courtesy call to India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, further underscoring the significance of the bilateral relationship.
