Indian-origin leaders dominate the global stage with innovation, influence, and wealth
Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, leads the HSBC Hurun Global Indians List 2024 as the most prominent Indian-origin global leader. Following closely are Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, and Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, showcasing the exceptional contributions of Indian-origin executives worldwide, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
The inaugural HSBC Hurun Global Indians List ranks 200 companies valued at over $1 billion, led by 226 Indian-origin CEOs, Managing Directors, and Founders based outside India.
Indian-origin executives spearhead $10 trillion in combined market value globally
Leena Nair, the Global CEO of Chanel, was recognized as the most influential woman of Indian origin. The list highlights that San Francisco leads globally with 37 individuals, while London and Dubai are frontrunners in their regions. The youngest entrant, Tanay Tandon, 27, is the co-founder and CEO of Commure.
The top 10 leaders, including Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai, Neal Mohan, Thomas Kurian (Google Cloud), Shantanu Narayen (Adobe), Sanjiv Lamba (Linde), Vasant Narasimhan (Novartis), Arvind Krishna (IBM), Vimal Kapur (Honeywell), and Kevin Lobo (Stryker), represent 73% of the total value. Key industries include software and services with 87 entries, followed by financial services (24) and healthcare (21).
The list reveals 57% of leaders are first-generation entrepreneurs. The USA hosts 79% of these leaders, with the UK and UAE following at 5% and 4%, respectively. Social media influence is led by Sundar Pichai (5.4 million followers), Satya Nadella (3.2 million), and Naval Ravikant (2.6 million).
The list also highlights individuals from the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, including LN Mittal & family and Gopichand Hinduja & family, who top the NRI wealth rankings.
