Self-provided evidence exposes their false complaint in Punjab
An NRI couple, Sahil Singh and Rajinder Kaur, who claimed they were robbed of 39 tola gold near Jaito Bypass in Bhatinda, were caught in their own web of lies after police uncovered the truth. The couple, originally from Punjab and residing in Australia, had filed a complaint stating that armed men attacked them while they were returning from a wedding, reported m9.news.
A video provided by the couple themselves led to their exposure, proving that the alleged robbery never took place.
- Police suspicions grew when Sahil and Rajinder hesitated to properly record their statements
- A deeper probe confirmed their complaint was false
- When confronted, the couple retracted their claims, with the woman stating she wasn’t even wearing jewelry that night and that they had no memory of the incident due to excessive partying
The police, led by SSP Amneet Kondal, launched an investigation into the case. The “suspicious car” identified in the footage actually belonged to a group of volleyball players traveling from Fazilka.
These individuals had briefly stopped after noticing a woman and child on the road but drove away upon realizing the couple was engaged in a heated argument. Further investigation revealed there was no robbery—just a fabricated story created by the NRI couple.
