3.81 lakh Indian visitors travelled to Oman in the first half of 2026, keeping India among the Sultanate’s largest tourism markets
Oman is seeing sustained growth in arrivals from India, with the number of Indian visitors rising by 11 per cent in 2025 as stronger air links and growing interest in the country’s tourism offerings boost travel between the two countries.
Oman received around 694,000 Indian visitors in 2025, up from the previous year, according to Yousuf Khalaf Al Mujaizi, Assistant Director of Business Development at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s Tourism Promotion Directorate. A further 381,000 Indian visitors arrived between January and June 2026, he told PTI.
The latest figures reinforce India’s position as one of Oman’s most important international tourism markets. National statistics showed 382,015 Indian visitors in the first half of 2026, making India the Sultanate’s second-largest source market after the United Arab Emirates.

Omani tourism officials said Indian travellers are increasingly looking beyond traditional holidays, with growing demand for family trips, premium travel, adventure tourism, nature-based experiences, destination weddings and business events.
Authorities are now seeking to deepen engagement with Indian airlines, travel companies and other industry stakeholders, while encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore destinations beyond Muscat and Salalah.
The growth comes despite wider pressures on regional aviation and tourism. Oman recorded 1.8 million tourist arrivals in the first half of 2026, while hotel occupancy, revenues and guest numbers declined during the period.
