India and Cambodia review bilateral relations and explore new cooperation opportunities
The 3rd India-Cambodia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) took place in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on March 10, 2025, fostering deeper bilateral cooperation and regional collaboration.
The Indian delegation was led by Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East), while the Cambodian side was represented by Dr. UN Kheang, Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The consultations, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, covered a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, including political cooperation, trade and investment, defence and security, development assistance, heritage conservation, and consular matters.
Both countries expressed satisfaction with the progress across various sectors and agreed to identify new avenues for collaboration, particularly in health and digital technologies.
The delegations also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
Leaders from India and Cambodia discussed political, economic, and cultural ties, emphasizing future collaboration in health and digital technologies
During the visit, Secretary (East) and the Cambodian Secretary of State toured the Asian Traditional Textile Museum—established with Indian support under the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation framework—and the Ta Prohm Temple, which is part of an Indian-assisted conservation and restoration project.
Recognizing Cambodia’s strategic importance in India’s Act East Policy and the Indo-Pacific Vision, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership. Cambodia also holds a significant position as a key partner for India in the Global South.
The two countries agreed to hold the next round of consultations at a mutually convenient date, continuing their collaborative efforts.
