The AI module aims to familiarize students early with concepts such as machine learning, responsible tech usage, and digital skills critical for the 21st century.
Salman described the inclusion of AI as “a milestone” that will cultivate innovation, ethical thinking, and tech fluencyamong students.
Alongside curriculum upgrades, infrastructure improvements are ongoing across Muscat, Darsait, Seeb, Sur, and Salalah. To meet increasing enrollment, new schools are being planned in Barka and Sinaw.

The reforms include the immediate introduction of Financial Literacy classes from Grade 5 and the launch of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum after the summer break.
In a first-of-its-kind move, a dedicated Sports Academy will be established to guide students with athletic potential toward professional sporting careers.
Additionally, the board has initiated a professional development programme for educators, based on a system-wide Training Needs Assessment to ensure teaching quality keeps pace with the evolving curriculum.
“Our goal is holistic development,” said Salman. “We want to nurture global citizens—curious, capable, and confident. This transformation needs the collective support of parents, educators, and the community.”
