Sanjeev Arora officially assumed office today as Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh. Joined by his family and warmly received by several senior ministers and government officials, Arora pledged to work with full dedication for the welfare and economic upliftment of the state, reported thevoiceofchandigarh.com.
Addressing the media after assuming charge, Arora stated, “I will perform my duties with utmost devotion and leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Punjab progresses on the industrial front while strengthening our engagement with the global Punjabi diaspora.”
His formal welcome included Cabinet Ministers Balbir Singh, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Baljit Kaur, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, and Laljit Singh Bhullar. MLAs Rupinder Singh Happy, Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra, and Narinder Kaur Bharaj also marked their presence alongside senior IAS and IPS officers such as Kamal Kishor Yadav, Amit Dhaka, Surabhi Malik, Senu Duggal, and A.S Rai. State Information Commissioner Harpeet Sandhu was also present to extend his congratulations.
Arora’s portfolio is key to Punjab’s economic development, and his appointment comes at a time when the state is working to attract investment, create employment opportunities, and engage more actively with Punjabis living abroad.
