Now India, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar have been put in ‘Amber list’ that means travellers from the ‘Amber listed’ countries can travel to UK
In yet another relief for expatriate workers stuck in certain countries due to Covid-19 related travel bans, the UK government excluded India, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar from the ‘Red list’ of countries. Travel from red list countries to the UK is banned.
Now India, UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar have been put in ‘Amber list’, which means travellers from the ‘Amber listed’ countries can travel to the UK.
Travellers from countries in the ‘Amber list’ can travel to UK from Sunday (August 8).
The criterion for travel from ‘Amber listed’ countries is full vaccination against Covid-19, and such foreign travellers do not have to undergo institutional quarantine of 10 days on arrival in the UK.

In a statement, the UK’s Transport Department said the new travel norms would be effective from 4am, UK time, on August 8.
After reaching England, the travellers have to be home quarantined for 10 days and have to undergo tests before the second day and on or after the eighth day of their arrival.
A couple of days ago Prime Minister of UK, Boris Johnson, had said he wanted to see the travel industry moving forward through some easy and user-friendly system, while avoiding new variants of the corona virus in the country.
Speaking to reporters, he said, ‘We have to take the people, the travel industry forward once again. We want an approach that is as simple as we can make it.”
