Visit reaffirms India’s strong and time-tested partnership with Seychelles under Vision MAHASAGAR
At the invitation of the Government of Seychelles, Hon’ble Vice President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan, is on an official visit to the Republic of Seychelles from 26–27 October 2025 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Dr. Patrick Herminie, President-elect of Seychelles, on behalf of the Government of India.
Vice President’s visit reflects India’s enduring friendship with Seychelles and its commitment to strengthening maritime and developmental cooperation under Vision MAHASAGAR
During the visit, the Vice President will convey India’s warm congratulations to Dr. Herminie and reaffirm New Delhi’s dedication to deepening its longstanding and multifaceted ties with Seychelles — a key maritime and strategic partner in the Indian Ocean region.
Seychelles holds an important place in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and in its broader engagement with the Global South. The visit will further consolidate cooperation in areas such as capacity building, security, renewable energy, and sustainable development, reinforcing the shared vision of peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indian Ocean.
