The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), functioning under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has released the provisional list of candidates eligible for the NRI category in Round 3 of the NEET PG Counselling 2025. The update was published on January 28, 2026, bringing clarity for aspirants waiting to participate under the NRI quota.

According to the MCC, the provisional list includes only those candidates whose NRI status applications and supporting documents have been carefully examined and approved. Candidates whose names appear on this list are now permitted to fill choices under the NRI category during Round 3 of the counselling process. This step is crucial, as only verified candidates can be considered for seat allotment in this quota.

  • Seat allocation in the NRI category will follow a clearly defined two-level priority system

  • Under Priority 1, seats will be allotted to NRI candidates themselves and their children

  • Priority 2 will apply to first-degree and second-degree relatives of NRI candidates

  • This structured approach aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the allotment process

The release of the provisional list comes at a time when Round 3 registrations and choice filling are already in progress. MCC has also revised the Round 3 seat matrix by adding and withdrawing certain postgraduate medical seats. These changes are expected to influence candidates’ preferences and final allotments, making it important for aspirants to review the updated matrix carefully before locking their choices.
