Jordan used the Arab–Indian Ministerial Cooperation Forum in New Delhi to underline its growing economic partnership with India and call for deeper political and trade engagement between the two sides.

The second ministerial meeting of the forum brought together Arab foreign ministers, senior officials and Indian representatives at a time of rising regional and global challenges. The two-day event was organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and focused on boosting cooperation through structured dialogue and practical partnerships.

Jordan was represented by its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Amjad Al-Adaileh, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs. In his address, Al-Adaileh said Jordan places strategic importance on its relations with India, noting that ties have gained fresh momentum following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the Kingdom.

He said the visit opened new doors for cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment and tourism. According to Al-Adaileh, economic cooperation has become a central pillar of Jordan–India relations and holds strong potential to support sustainable growth and shared prosperity for both countries.

  • On political matters, the Jordanian envoy welcomed India’s support for justice and international law

  • He reaffirmed Jordan’s long-standing position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and a two-state solution based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state

  • He also stressed the need to preserve the legal and historical status of Jerusalem’s holy sites under Hashemite custodianship

Al-Adaileh further highlighted Jordan’s support for the humanitarian work of UNRWA and thanked India for its continued political and financial backing of the agency.

On the sidelines of the forum, Jordan joined the Arab ministerial delegation in meetings with Prime Minister Modi and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
