Singapore continued to strengthen its appeal among Indian travellers in 2025, welcoming more than 1.2 million visitors from India during the year, according to the latest data released by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Despite intense competition among Asian destinations, Indian arrivals recorded a modest but steady growth of 1 per cent compared to 2024, highlighting sustained interest in the city-state for both leisure and business travel.

The year held special significance for Singapore–India relations, as both countries marked 60 years of diplomatic ties. STB said the milestone year helped reinforce travel confidence, with Indian visitors contributing strongly to tourism activity and spending. Markus Tan, STB’s Regional Director for India, the Middle East, South Asia and Africa, noted that the steady rise in arrivals reflected India’s continued trust in Singapore as a preferred destination.

  • Overall, Singapore received 16.9 million international visitors in 2025, representing a 2.3 per cent increase year-on-year

  • India remained among Singapore’s top five source markets, alongside Mainland China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia

  • This positioning underlines India’s importance to Singapore’s tourism strategy

Visitor spending also showed healthy growth. Tourism receipts reached SGD 23.9 billion in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 6.5 per cent rise over the previous year and the highest ever recorded for that period. Spending by Indian travellers alone amounted to SGD 1.17 billion, up 5 per cent year-on-year, indicating higher average spending per visitor.

A key driver behind this momentum has been the rise in MICE travel—meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Singapore has seen growing interest from Indian companies hosting corporate events, alongside leisure travellers seeking culture, food and shopping experiences.
