Qatar Airways has announced plans to operate a limited number of relief flights to help passengers stranded by the ongoing closure of Qatari airspace.

The airline said normal flight operations remain temporarily suspended and will only resume once authorities confirm that the airspace is safe. Until then, the carrier will run a small number of special flights beginning 5 March.

These relief services will depart from Muscat and Riyadh, taking passengers to several European destinations. Flights from Muscat are planned to cities including London Heathrow, Berlin, Copenhagen, Madrid, Rome and Amsterdam. A separate service will operate from Riyadh to Frankfurt.

The airline has asked passengers not to travel to airports unless they receive an official confirmation from Qatar Airways about their flight

According to the airline, affected travellers will be contacted directly with details of their travel arrangements and assigned seats. Passengers are also advised to ensure their contact information is updated on the airline’s website or mobile application so they can receive timely notifications.

Regional tensions have forced several countries to restrict or close their airspace, leading to widespread disruption across Middle Eastern aviation routes. Airlines have had to cancel or reroute flights, leaving thousands of travellers waiting for updates.

Qatar Airways said it continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as conditions change.
