More than 175 volunteers put in over 870 volunteer hours to achieve the ‘Challenge’
Part of the ‘50 for 50 Challenge’, the Dentons Middle East achieved the goal of 50 CSR initiatives across the Middle East by raising $50,000 and helping 30 non-profit organisations.
More than 175 volunteers put in over 870 volunteer hours to achieve the challenge, as the project also builds upon the firm’s award-winning CSR programme in the Middle East.
Dentons launched the ambitious quest to complete 50 different CSR initiatives in September 2019 marking the 50th anniversary of its Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices and to inspire all members across our Middle East offices to give back to their communities.
The company’s ME staff cycled, ran and walked for charity, raised awareness for environmental causes and health issues, collected toys for refugees, baked cakes to raise money for various non-profit organisations and donated time towards pro bono work to meet the ‘Challenge’
Commenting on the achievement, Paul Jarvis, Dentons’ CEO for the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, said, “It is a privilege to be part of a very different law firm with a deep regional presence and strong connections with our communities. The ’50 for 50 Challenge’ allowed us to give back to these communities. It has been hugely rewarding and a truly fitting way to mark 50 years of being in this remarkable nation. I hope it inspires others to choose to give back to their community.”
The company employees across all nine offices in the Middle East cycled, ran and walked for charity, raised awareness for environmental causes and health issues, collected toys for refugees, baked cakes to raise money for various non-profit organisations and donated time towards pro bono work to meet the ‘Challenge.’
“With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ‘Challenge’ and fundraising moved online, including virtual fitness challenges, distributing re-usable cotton facemasks, and even Zoom videos to record beards being shaved off to mark the start of ‘Movember’.
